DCTC Textbook Rentals Program
Rental books are great options for students looking to save money on course materials. Our rental book program can save students up to 75% when compared to the price of brand new textbooks.
Why Rent?
As mentioned above, the biggest advantage to renting textbooks is the lower cost to the student.
What are the disadvantages?
- You must remember to return all rented textbooks.
- Books must be returned in resalable condition.
Will I Get Money Back When I Return My Rental?
No. Renting your textbooks offers savings up-front so there is no refund when you return your rental. Rented books remain the property of the DCTC Campus Store while you use them.
How to Rent Textbooks Online:
- Titles with the option of being rented will be displayed when you search for your course materials.
- Add the rental books to your cart and begin the checkout process.
- By renting textbooks from the DCTC Campus Store online, you must agree to the terms of the Textbook Rental Agreement.
How Do I Return My Rentals?
Please see the DCTC Rental Return Instructions.
Note: Books rented through DCTC Campus Store website must be returned to the Campus Store. Books rented through other vendors must be returned as per your agreement with them. The Campus Store does NOT have access to rental records from any other vendors.
What Happens If I Do Not Return My Rentals by the Due Date?
Rented textbooks must be returned to the DCTC Campus Store by the last day of the term by 4pm. If a rented book is not returned by the deadline, you will be charged the difference between the full retail price and the rental fee, plus a $25 late fee per book. No late returns will be accepted.
Requirements to Rent
- Students must be enrolled at DCTC and have a valid Student ID number.
- Students must agree to the terms of the Textbook Rental Agreement online.
